Royal Bank of Canada National Roofing Program (2010-2012)

BTC is the building envelope consultant on this project, and our tasks include design review, quality assurance and testing of all foundation waterproofing, wall cladding systems (metal siding, cement board siding, curtain wall and masonry) as well as multiple roof assemblies.  In addition, BTC provided the equipment and the supplies to complete the job.

Governor General residence, Dome rehabilitation

BTC’s role on this project team was as Building Envelope Consultant, acting on behalf of the owner.  Our responsibilities included design review, quality assurance, air leakage and thermographic testing of all building envelope components, including air/vapour barrier, waterproofing and thermal insulation of all new foundations, wall assemblies (Curtain wall, siding and masonry) and roofing. This project was particularly challenging to ensure fully airtight and watertight connections to the existing buildings, above occupied spaces in a cancer treatment centre.

Kingston General Hospital Redevelopment (2009-2012)

As the Building Envelope Consultant on the project, BTC’s role was to design an airtight and watertight envelope, both during and post-completion.  Our role included design review, air leakage and IR testing of roofs and curtain walls, quality assurance during installation of air/vapour barrier, glazing, waterproofing, roofing, siding, masonry and roofing. This project was particularly challenging to ensure fully airtight and watertight in new construction area, renovation areas and connections, often above occupied spaces in a cancer treatment centre.

Queensway Carleton Hospital Cancer Centre and Parkade (2009-2010)
